St. Margaret's confirmed as one of the first churches to back same sex marriage

This summer the General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church voted to permit marriage between couples of the same sex. For this to happen in any particular church, approval of the Vestry (Church management committee) must be given and the clergy need to obtain authorisation from the Registrar General through their Bishop – something which Revd Pat has now received.

St Margaret's Vestry have unanimously supported the change and expressed pleasure that we are one of the first churches where Christian love and commitment can be expressed in same sex marriage. This is just one aspect of our open welcoming approach to all individuals.
